MATTHEWS INTRODUCES CARTRIDGE BASED FAST DRY SOLVENT INKS FOR VIACODE L-SERIES
New inks greatly expand thermal ink jet applications on non-porous materials
Pittsburgh, PA, December 10, 2013 – Matthews Marking Systems, a leading manufacturer of marking and coding products, announces the release of two fast dry solvent-based inks for its Viacode L-Series thermal ink jet (TIJ) printer. The new inks, LS-6020 and LS-6021, were designed to utilize TIJ printing at industrial speeds on a variety of non-porous substrates. Each has unassisted dry times faster than two seconds and offers broad coverage for polyesters, oriented nylon, coated packaging, foils, and resins.
Packaged in single use cartridges, the LS-6020 and LS-6021 enable customers to produce high quality marks while reducing clean up, downtime, and maintenance costs typically associated with continuous ink jet (CIJ) printers. These inks work well with Viapack, Matthews’ highly featured, compact printing bundle. Viapack includes powerful Viacode software, a touchscreen interface, a thermal ink jet printhead, and installation hardware. Combined with L-S6020 and LS-6021, Viapack is a versatile, complete solution for a variety of markets, particularly consumer packaged goods (CPG) and industrial applications.

The L-Series is the second in a series of printers developed on the popular Viacode platform, which enables complete management of enterprise marking and coding operations. L-Series leverages the same cartridge technology found in desktop printers.
