Matthews inks are developed in-house using components selected for compatibility with Matthews equipment and production substrates, with formulations validated against actual printhead performance rather than adapted from general-purpose ink chemistry.
Matthews offers a wide range of ink options for different production needs, including fast-drying solvent inks, rubber-curable inks, thermochromic inks, environmentally friendly inks, porous and non-porous substrate inks, no/low VOC fast-dry inks, water-removable and alkali-removable solutions, Mil Spec A-A-208 inks, FDA-approved inks for incidental and direct food contact, and water-fast pigmented ink. As application demands, substrates, and regulatory requirements change, Matthews continues developing new ink types to keep pace.
When a standard formulation is not the right fit, Matthews can develop a custom ink for the substrate and application. That matters in environments where drying speed, adhesion, rub resistance, removability, regulatory requirements, or operating conditions put standard options under pressure. Matthews also tests its inks across a wide range of temperatures and designs them to work in all Matthews printers, helping maintain consistent print quality and more predictable maintenance intervals.
Because Matthews develops both the ink and the equipment, the ink, printhead, and substrate are treated as one system instead of separate variables. That helps reduce nozzle clogging, limit unplanned maintenance stoppages, and support more consistent production. Global distribution centers and standard two-day delivery on stocked replacement fluids also help reduce supply-related interruptions.
