PackExpo 2017: Ideal for Food and Beverage Packagers, CO2 Laser Coding System Can Be Equipped for Washdown Environments

Matthews Marking System’s eSolarMark+ CO2 laser coding system—featured in Booth C-3632—enhanced with new control software, diagnostics and larger user interface.

PITTSBURGH, PA (August 15, 2017) — Ideal for high-speed coding of variable data onto cardboard, glass, paper and plastics used in primary packaging of food, beverage and pharmaceutical products, the eSolarMark+ CO2 laser coding system from Matthews Marking Systems features multiple enhancements. The unit has been upgraded with new control software and diagnostic functions, a user-friendly 15-inch touchscreen, and optional IP65-rated housing for washdown and extreme environments. A demo model of the eSolarMark+ CO2 can be seen in Booth C-3632 throughout PackExpo Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada, September 25-27, 2017.

Clean and environmentally friendly, the eSolarMark+ CO2 requires no ink consumables for a lower total cost ownership. It produces vector-quality, permanent coding of text, date and time codes, serial numbers, barcodes and 2D codes, and graphics. Software updates include the ability to preview and edit messages in a separate window, quick-access buttons for manipulation of different objects in a job file, and the ability to work on the new touchscreen interface while the laser is in operation.

For flexible mounting away from production line obstructions, the unit has a large focal distance and improved protection applied to the optical beam path for extended laser life. New diagnostic features include monitoring of system humidity levels and operating temperatures. The eSolarMark+ CO2 is offered in both air- and water- cooled models with four laser output power options—10-, 30-, 55- and 100-watt—to accommodate different throughput speed and performance requirements.
